Interest rates announced for schemes like Sukanya, NSC, SCSS and PPF, know here how much return you will get

Interest rates: On Monday, September 30, the Central Government has announced the interest rates for all the small savings schemes of the post office like Public Provident Fund, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Senior Citizen Scheme.

Interest rates: Small savings schemes are very popular among the middle class people due to their attractive returns. On Monday, a big update has come from the government regarding these schemes. In fact, the Finance Ministry has announced the interest rates for the quarter starting from October 1 and ending on December 31. In such a situation, before investing in Senior Citizens (SCSS), Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), National Savings Certificate (NSC), Post Office Term Deposit (POTD), Mahila Samman Savings Certificate and Post Office Monthly Income Scheme (POMIS), you must know the interest rates available on them once.

Know what are the new interest rates?

The central government has announced the interest rates on small savings schemes today i.e. on September 30 late in the evening. The Finance Ministry has not made any change in the interest rates for the October-December quarter, that is, the interest that these schemes were getting during the July-September quarter, will also be available in the October-December quarter.

The ministry issued a press release saying, “The interest rates on various small savings schemes for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 commencing on October 1, 2024 and ending on December 31, 2024 will remain unchanged from the rates notified for the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25.”

How much return is being given on which scheme

  • 7.7% interest on National Saving Certificate.
  • 7.1% return on Public Provident Fund Scheme.
  • 7.5% interest on Kisan Vikas Patra Yojana.
  • 8.2% interest on Sukanya Samriddhi Account.
  • 4% interest on Saving Deposit.
  • 6.9% interest on 1 year term time deposit.
  • 7% interest on 2 year term time deposit.
  • 7.1% interest on 3 year term time deposit.
  • 7.5% return on 5 year time deposit.
  • 6.7% interest on 5 year RD.
  • 8.2% return on Senior Citizen Savings Scheme.
  • 7.4% interest on Monthly Income Account Scheme.
