Flight operations at the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar may start from September this year. A total of Rs 10 thousand crore will be spent on the development of the first phase of Jewar Airport. Out of this, Rs 7100 crore has been spent so far. The first phase of the airport is being developed in 1300 hectares. Airlines operating flights from Noida International Airport will have to pay very low tax on aviation turbine fuel.
Flight will be cheaper
Uttar Pradesh government has reduced the VAT rate on ATF to 1 percent. Whereas in states like Delhi, Haryana etc. the VAT rate is 25 percent. 40 percent of the expenditure of airlines companies is on ATF only. In such a situation, there is a possibility of operating more flights from the new airport. Rs 10,056 crore will be spent on the development of the first phase of the upcoming international airport at Jewar, Noida. Officials said that Rs 7,100 crore has been spent so far.
Work will be completed by September
SP Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, reviewed the progress of construction at the international airport on Monday. During this, he has instructed the officials to complete the work by September this year. Goyal held a review meeting with officials of Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich International Airport AG, which is building this new airport. Indigo will start its flights as soon as this airport becomes operational, because it has signed an MOU with the government.
