Cheque Books Invalid Last Date: From 15 days onwards, the old chequebooks of Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank and United Bank of India will become invalid.
New Delhi: Cheque Books Unvalid from 1st October 2021: 1 The merger of many public sector banks in the country ( Merger of PSU Banks) has now become effective and along with this the old cheque, IFSC Code and MICR Code of the bank have also changed. If in such a situation you are transacting with the old check book , then it may bounce. If you are transacting through NetBanking or MobileBanking using the old IFSC Code, then this transaction may fail. Three banks have also informed their customers about this that if after October 1, the old cheque book will become invalid.
From October 1, the old chequebooks of Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank and United Bank of India will become invalid. It is known that Oriental and United Bank have been merged with Punjab National Bank. This process of merger has now been completed in about two years.
MICR code and chequebook of Allahabad Bank is valid only till 30 September 2021. The old MICR code and check book will become invalid from 1st October 2021. Therefore, to continue with banking transactions, customers should get a new chque book before 1 October. Customers can take the check book by visiting the branch themselves or can order it online (Internet Banking, Online Banking).
At the same time, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has also informed that the old checkbooks of Oriental Bank and United Bank will become invalid after 30 September. Customers have to get a new cheque book before October 1, 2021. Customers have been requested to replace the old cheque book of these two banks with the new cheque book having IFSC code and MICR code of PNB. Internet banking or PNB One service can be used for checkbook.
