Railway ticket will be linked with PAN, Aadhaar

Railway Protection Force (RPF) Director General Arun Kumar said that the Railways is working on a plan to link identity documents with IRCTC. He said that earlier action against fraud was based on human intelligence, but the effect was not enough. Finally, we have decided to link it with PAN, Aadhaar or other identity documents while logging in for the ticket. With this we can prevent ticket booking fraud.

‘Order will start soon’

Arun Kumar told that we first need to create a network. We are almost done with the Aadhaar Authority. As soon as the whole system is ready to work. We will start using it after implementing it. Arun Kumar said that the action against the touts was started in October and November 2019, since then 14,257 touts have been arrested. So far, fake tickets worth 28.34 crores have been caught.

Arun Kumar said that Rail Suraksha App has been developed where complaints related to these matters can be made. There is also a plan to install CCTV cameras at 6049 stations and all passenger train coaches, he added.
