For this reason, cancellation charges also have to be paid. This charge depends on how long before the departure of the train you cancel the ticket. It is taken accordingly. Let us know.
There are two categories in ticket cancellation in Railways. First – before the chart is created and second – after the chart is created. This decides how much refund you will get.
How much is charged for canceling railway tickets before 48 hours?
AC First Class/Executive Class – Rs 240
AC 2 Tier/First Class – Rs 200
AC 3 Tier/AC Chair Car/AC3 Economy- Rs 180
Sleeper Class – Rs 120
Second Class – Rs 60
48 hours to less than 12 hours
If a confirmed ticket is canceled between 48 hours to 12 hours of train departure, 25 percent of the total train ticket charge plus the minimum fixed flat rate, whichever is higher, will be charged. Whereas, if a confirmed ticket is canceled less than 12 hours before the charge is made, 50 percent ticket refund is available.
Ticket cancellation charge after chart preparation
If the chart has already been prepared then the confirmed ticket cannot be cancelled. According to the information given on the IRCTC website, such users should file TDR online and track their refund cases through IRCTC. According to the information given on the IRCTC website, if TDR is not filed four hours before the departure of the train, then no refund will be given on the confirmed ticket.
