IRCTC ticket booking service restored, you will have to wait for new registration and changing password

IRCTC Server Down Indian Railways’ IRCTC site and app is currently down. When you visit the site, a pop-up appears that due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing services will not be available for the next one hour. Please try later. To file cancellation/TDR, please call customer care number 14646 0755-6610661 and 0755-4090600 or mail to eticketsirctc.co.in. Let’s know the reason for this.

New Delhi: The e-ticketing service on the website and app of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was down for an hour on Monday due to maintenance activity. During this time, on opening the site, a message was coming, “Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available for the next one hour. Please try later. To file cancellation/TDR, please call customer care number 14646, 0755-6610661 and 0755-4090600 or mail to etickets@irctc.co.in.”

This problem was resolved in the afternoon and the site started opening. However, users will still not be able to do new registration, change login password and update profile password from 4 pm today to 4 pm tomorrow i.e. 10 December.

Users were complaining on social media

Social media users were complaining about the IRCTC site being down (IRCTC Server Down). On logging in to the IRCTC website, a message of downtime was coming. It said that due to maintenance work, the e-ticketing service will be closed for the next 1 hour. To cancel the ticket or file TDR, passengers were being asked to call or email the customer care number.

The maintenance of IRCTC server is usually done at night. But, this time as soon as the time for booking Tatkal ticket came at 10 am, the server went down. This has led to a flood of complaints from users on social media. This included people booking Tatkal tickets especially. Users are asking many types of questions by tagging IRCTC.

Is this a cyber attack?

Many were speculating on social media that this is a cyber attack, because IRCTC will not do maintenance at 10 am, which is the time for Tatkal booking. Actually, Tatkal tickets for AC coaches are booked at 10 am. At the same time, booking for non-AC i.e. sleeper class is done from 11 am.

IRCTC is currently working on a super app. In this, all the apps related to railways will be combined to make one app. This will give more convenience to the passengers and they will be able to do things like ticket booking and train tracking from a single app. The site going down is also being linked to the super app process.

You will not be able to do these tasks on IRCTC’s site for 24 hours

According to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), users will not be able to do new registration, change login password and update profile password from 4 pm today to 4 pm tomorrow i.e. 10 December. The reason for this is server maintenance. Earlier, due to technical problems, the website was down from around 10 am to 12 noon on Monday (9 December). During this time, the downtime message was visible on the website.

The petitioner had said this

Gaurav Luthra, a resident of Jalandhar, had filed this petition. In this, he had said that due to the farmers’ movement, Shambhu border has been closed for a long time. Now farmer unions have also closed other highways of Punjab. This is not only illegal, but also a violation of the fundamental rights of other citizens. The Constitution also gives the right to movement the status of a fundamental right. This fundamental right has been taken away from a large population of Punjab. Doing this is also against the National Highway Act. Which comes under the purview of criminal activity.

Farmers will not go to Delhi tomorrow, will make strategy today

Regarding the Delhi march, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said in a press conference today that the next strategy will be made at Khanauri border at 4.30 pm today.
