New Delhi The four-match Test series between India and England is now just two days away. The first match of the series is to be played in Chennai from Friday 5 February. There is a lot of talk about how the playing team of the Indian team will be in this first match. Speaking to Dainik Jagran, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan told how India’s playing XI might be in the first Test against England.
In the Indian playing XI for the first match of the series against England, Irfan has selected young Shubman Gill to start the innings with veteran Rohit Sharma. Cheteshwar Pujara at number three, while captain Virat Kohli is returning to the team in fourth place. After this, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will be there, then wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant at number six.
Irrfan said, “Talking about the opener, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma will be very keen on Virat coming back and we also hope that there will always be how many centuries he will make. Obviously, if five bowlers play now Then Ajinkya Rahane, Pujara will be his place. ”
Irfan, along with three spinners, advised the team to step down. He sees R Ashwin and Washington Sundar as spinners as well as batsmen. Kuldeep Yadav has been included as the main spinner in the team. The pace bowling will feature veteran Ishant Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah.
Irfan further said, ‘I also see the place of Washington Sundar in it, Kuldeep Yadav, Ashwin and two fast bowlers. If Bumrah and Ishant Sharma are fit, then they should get a place first. Wicketkeeping will feature Rishabh Pant. ”
