Earlier the date was 31st December
According to the new guidelines, now the income tax return can be filed till March 15. It was told by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) that the date for filing income tax return for the assessment year 2021-22 has been extended to 15 March 2022. Earlier, time till December 31 was given to file ITR.
CBDT extended the last date for this reason
It was told by the CBDT that in view of the difficulties being faced by the taxpayers due to the corona epidemic, the date of filing ITR has been extended again. In the notification issued by the CBDT, it has also been said that the deadline has also been increased due to the problem being faced during the e-filing of various audit reports under the provisions of Income Tax Act 1961.
