Minors above the age of 10 years are also eligible to open a bank Jan-Dhan account. For this you will have to go to your respective bank and submit a written application along with KYC documents to the bank for issuing RuPay card and give information about transferring existing savings bank account to Jan Dhan account. This form has to be submitted. The savings account will be converted into Jan Dhan account within 3-4 working days after the issuance of RuPay debit card.

Some information has to be filled in a prescribed form, such as account holder name, address, mobile number, bank branch name, business / employment, number of dependents, annual income, nominee, village code or town code etc. At the same time, along with the filled form, in addition to the Aadhar card, any one of the documents like PAN card, passport, MNREGA job card, driving license, voter ID card will have to be submitted.
11 lakh Jan Dhan accounts opened in April
The number of Jan Dhan beneficiaries in the country was 42.20 crore at the end of FY 2011 and it increased to 42.31 at the end of April. That means 11 lakh Jan-Dhan accounts were opened in April. The special thing is that despite the rapid spread of the second wave of Corona, such a large number of accounts were opened. However, the average deposit in Jan Dhan accounts decreased slightly from Rs 3,449 at the end of March to Rs 3,386.85 at the end of April.
