Actually TRAI has introduced calling and messaging only recharge plan to stop the loot of expensive recharge plans. In such a situation, telecom companies like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea will have to introduce cheap calling messaging only recharge plan. This recharge plan will be for those smartphone users who want only messaging and calling plan without data. TRAI has allowed telecom operators to launch low cost recharge voucher plan. Its price can be at least 10 rupees.
Recharge plans without data will be launched
In fact, today many smartphone users use the internet through Wi-Fi. Also, many smartphone users in rural areas need only calling and messaging plans, but they are forced to recharge mobile data because big telecom operators like Jio, Airtel and BSNL do not offer plans without data. In such a situation, there was a long-standing demand from customers that telecom companies should launch calling and messaging only plans without data.
TRAI changed the rules
TRAI, justifying the demand of customers, has ordered telecom companies to introduce messaging and calling only plans. For this, TRAI has changed the tariff rules. In such a situation, it has become mandatory for all telecom operators to launch calling and messaging plans. Also, TRAI has increased the existing validity of 90 days of special recharge coupon to 365 days.
Which users will get the benefit
According to TRAI’s report, about 150 million subscribers in the country use feature phones, who do not need data. For such users, recharge plans without data should be introduced. There are about 150 million 2G users in the country. Also, there are many users who use dual SIM in the phone. Plans without data can prove to be beneficial for such users.
