Upcoming movies of Jio Studios : Jio Studios has revealed its long list of new movies and web series, the biggest single slate ever produced by an Indian studio. The production company has over 100 new projects in its lineup, but for now the studio has only teased 62, spanning multiple languages and genres. It also includes projects from actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, R Madhavan, Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor. At present, their release date has not been told, but they will definitely be released in theaters and direct-to-app (OTT).
First in the lineup is Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. The film is slated to release this year and stars Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. Apart from this, two films of Shahid Kapoor are lined up. First up is Bloody Daddy, an Indian adaptation of the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche, where a police detective crosses paths with a drug dealer. The film will reportedly release on Jio Cinema. Then there is a love film without title with Kriti Sanon.
Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe is being taken forward with sequels of both Stree and Bhediya. Apart from this, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Section 84, Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s Zara Bachke and Hisaab Barabar are also in the list, in which R Madhavan will be seen playing the role of a lawyer.
Nana Patekar is making his OTT debut with Laal Batti, a political thriller helmed by Prakash Jha, while Randeep Hooda will be seen in Inspector Avinash. Even Indian rapper Raftaar is making his debut in a streaming series with Bajao.
Jio Studios is poised to dominate the regional territory by offering movies and TV series in multiple languages, including Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, among others.
