Jio users get New Year gift, local calls free on any number

Reliance Jio : Free Call, 1 January 2021, New Year Gift: Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom company, has given a big gift to customers on New Year. The company has announced to make voice calling free on all networks (Off-Net) on Thursday.

Reliance Jio has announced that from 1 January 2021 all local voice calls will be free. Let us tell you that a few months ago Reliance Jio started taking money from Jio for the second number of local calls. Many plans were also launched for this.

The company has taken this step based on the guidelines of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Customers will start getting the benefit of this facility from 1 January 2021. This directly means that customers will now be able to avail unlimited calling from Jio on the network of Airtel, Vodafone-Idea and BSNL too.

With the end of the interconnect usage charge (IUC) system for domestic voice calls, Reliance Jio said on Thursday that all calls from its network to other networks in India are free from January 1, 2021. According to a statement, according to the instructions of the telecom regulator, ‘Bill and Keep’ system is being implemented in the country from January 1, 2021, which will eliminate the IUC charges for all domestic voice calls.

The company further said, Jio will once again free all off-net domestic voice calls as soon as the IUC charges are over, fulfilling its commitment to return non-domestic home voice call charges to zero. It will be from January 2021. On-net domestic voice calls have always been free on the Jio network.

In simple language, off-net calls are those calls that are made on other networks. For more than a year, Reliance Jio was charging customers about six paise per minute for making voice calls on other phone networks, but at the same time customers were being given free data of equal value.
