Jio had completely removed its value category some time ago. Now it has been brought back and voice only plans of Rs 448 and Rs 1748 have been listed under it. But now there is also a new sub-category called Affordable Packs. Jio has again listed its cheapest plan in this sub-category.

New Delhi. Reliance Jio completely removed the ‘Value’ category of prepaid plans a few days ago. But, now the company has brought it back. Under the value category, users will now get voice-only plans priced at Rs 448 and Rs 1748. Now there is a new sub-category under the value category named ‘Affordable Packs’. Under this sub-category of Jio, a prepaid plan of Rs 189 is now available.

This plan is not new in any way as it was already available. In fact, before the tariff hike came into effect in July 2024, this plan used to be Rs 155. TelecomTalk had reported in a report on January 30, 2025 that Jio has removed the Rs 189 plan. However, now this plan is again on offer.

Let’s know the benefits of this plan

Reliance Jio’s Rs 189 prepaid plan comes with a service validity of 28 days. This plan offers 2GB data, unlimited voice calling and 300 SMS to users. With this plan, customers get JioCinema, JioTV and JioCloud subscriptions. After the FUP (Fair Usage Policy) data limit, the speed is reduced to 64 Kbps.

This is Jio’s most affordable pack at the moment. Customers can alternatively choose the Rs 199 plan. This plan offers 18 days of service validity, 1.5GB daily data and 100 SMS daily. The validity of this plan is much less than the Rs 189 option, but the data is much more. Neither the Rs 199 or Rs 189 plan offers unlimited 5G data.

It is not clear at the moment whether Reliance Jio will bring any other value plan for 84 days or not. Because, Bharti Airtel is already offering this for Rs 548. In the last few days, Indian telecom operators have made several changes to their prepaid plans. The coming few days will be interesting as there may be more changes in the offerings of Vodafone Idea (Vi) and Bharti Airtel as well.
