The state government is making every possible effort for the welfare of the stakeholders associated with the cooperative sector including farmers. The department is in the process of providing interest-free, short-term agricultural loans to farmers holding Kisan Credit Cards (KCC).

There is good news for the economically weaker section of farmers of Bihar. Very soon, farmers will start getting interest free loans from state cooperative banks. Bihar government said on Tuesday that this will be a short-term agricultural loan to be given to farmers free of interest. According to PTI news, an official said that under this initiative, farmers will be given loans to meet post-harvest expenses as well as financial needs of agriculture and other allied activities.

Government is trying to help

According to the news, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Bihar Cooperative Department, Deepak Kumar Singh said that the state government is making every possible effort for the welfare of the stakeholders associated with the cooperative sector, including farmers. The department is in the process of providing interest-free, short-term agricultural loans to farmers holding Kisan Credit Cards (KCC). To strengthen the Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), the state government has decided to develop them as Common Service Centers (CSCs), which will provide 300 common services to the people in rural areas.

Took many steps for farmers

Work has already begun to develop 1,000 PACS as common service centres. The Additional Chief Secretary said this at a program on the occasion of the 70th All India Cooperative Week 2023 here. On this occasion, Bihar Cooperative Department Minister Surendra Yadav said that the government in the state has taken many steps for the cooperative societies as well as the farmers. Small and marginal farmers play an important role in the overall development of the state.

The minister said that we will soon bring many incentives for the farmers. Our co-operative banks are consistently profitable and are successfully implementing procurement and other co-operative schemes. After this decision of the government, a large number of economically weak farmers will get a lot of help in farming.
