Difficulty in changing jobs – Many times people become PF accounts due to changing jobs. Usually, every employer opens his own separate PF account, in which the amount of PF of the employee is deposited.
EPFO facility – EPFO, which manages PF account, has started this facility through universal account number that you can merge two PF accounts if you want.
Activate UAN – Every member of EPFO has been allotted a UAN number. Usually it is written on your salary slip. To activate it, you have to go to the Unified Member Portal of EPFO.
What is the procedure?
Click on the UAN tab. In this, after entering the UAN number, you will have to enter the name, date of birth and mobile number. After this an authorization pin is generated. After inserting this pin, your UAN becomes active.
To merge two old accounts of One Member, One PF Account EPFO, you will have to visit EPFO website and select One Employee-One EPF Account in the Services tab. After clicking on this link, a form will open. The EPF member will have to enter their mobile number here. After this, the UAN and the existing member ID will have to be entered. After inserting these things an OTP will be generated. It has to be authenticated by OTP.
