What is Lakhpati Didi Scheme?
PM Modi had announced this scheme during his Independence Day speech. Under this scheme, skill development training is given to 2 crore women in villages across the country.
In this training, women are given training in many skills like plumbing, making LED bulbs and operating and repairing drones. This scheme is operated through self-help groups of every state.
The Finance Minister said in the budget speech that many women of the country are getting the benefits of this scheme. Now the target of beneficiaries of this scheme has been increased from 2 crore to 3 crore.

Eligibility for Lakhpati Didi Scheme
- There is no age limit for this scheme.
- Sabha Bharatiya Mahila can avail the benefits of this scheme.
- Women will have to join the ‘self-help groups’ of their state.
How to apply
- To get the benefit of this scheme, you will have to prepare a ‘Self Help Group’ business plan.
- After the business plan is ready, the self-help group will send this plan and application to the government.
- After this the government will review this application. If the application is accepted then you can avail the benefits of this scheme.
- Under this scheme, interest free loan of Rs 5 lakh is also given in many states.
