A discount of 30 percent is being given by the company on late fees. In such a situation, you will get a discount of Rs 3000 on a policy with premium up to Rs 1 lakh. Whereas if the premium of your policy is between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, then you will get a discount of around Rs 3500. On policies worth more than Rs 3 lakh, you will get a rebate of up to Rs 4000 in late fees. One thing to keep in mind here is that on reviving a lapsed policy, you will have to pay less fee, but you are being given a huge discount.
The insurance policy expires when its premium is not paid within the prescribed limit. To restart it, you can restart it with a late fee by providing a proof of the reason for not paying the premium and also paying the entire premium along with interest.
