Digital Life Certificate: Senior citizens above 80 years of age can submit Digital Life Certificate from October 1, 2023.
Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners: Crores of pensioners across the country have to submit their life certificate i.e. life certificate every year in the months of October and November. If they do not do so, their pension is stopped and is restored only after depositing it. Super seniors i.e. senior citizens above 80 years of age can submit their life certificate from October 1. Whereas for pensioners above 60 years, this process will start from November 1, 2023.
Submit life certificate with the help of face authentication.
The reason behind submitting the life certificate is that it can be confirmed whether the person getting the pension is alive or not. For the convenience of senior citizens, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has started providing the facility of depositing pension through face authentication. In the notification issued on September 25, 2023, DoPPW has asked different banks to use face authentication technology as much as possible.
Submit your life certificate through face authentication in this way-
1. For this, first of all go to Google Play Store and download ‘Aadhaar Face RD (Early Access) Application’.
2. After this you will also have to download the Jeevan Pramaan Patra app.
3. Next in this app, enter all your personal details like Aadhaar number, mobile number, email ID etc.
4. Then click on submit option.
5. Next you will receive OTP on your mobile number, mobile number and email ID, enter it.
6. Next you have to click on the Aadhaar scan option.
7. Next the app will ask you for the option of face scan which you should enter.
8. Next, by clicking on Yes option, your face will be scanned.
9. After this, as the life certificate is submitted, your certificate ID and PPO number will start appearing on the screen.
Digital Life Certificate Campaign 2.0 will start from November
It is noteworthy that there are about 69.76 lakh pensioners of the Central Government across the country. For the convenience of pensioners, DoPPW is going to launch a nationwide campaign from November 1 to 30, 2023. Through this, more than 50 lakh pension holders in 100 cities will be encouraged to submit digital life certificates. The government is trying to provide pensioners the facility to easily submit their life certificate through this campaign.
