Under this, the company is offering plans with a premium of less than Rs 149 per year only. PhonePe says that an insurance policy can be availed instantly through the app without any health check-up and paperwork.
Announcing this plan, PhonePe said that only 2.73 percent of the people in India have life insurance. Mainly because of lack of awareness and confusing paperwork. The trend of not taking insurance is highest in Tier 2 cities and small towns, where a large population of the country resides. In view of this, PhonePe has brought insurance facility for its 250 million users at very affordable rates.
It states that there are PhonePe users in the age group of 18 to 50 years and earning Rs 1 lakh or more per year. They can avail this facility immediately. The special thing is that they neither have to undergo a general health check-up nor will they have to get involved in paperwork for this. This policy provides the facility of insurance to the user for an amount ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 20 lakh depending on the premium amount.
PhonePe users can get their term life insurance in a few easy steps. In the My Money section of the app, users can go to the Insurance section and select Term Life Insurance. They can then choose the amount for which they should be insured. After providing the general details and their enrolled information, the user can complete the purchase by making an online payment through the app immediately.
