Liquor Party Rules: If liquor is served without a license in a party organized in a residential house or any community hall in Noida or Greater Noida, then it will be a violation of the rules and to avoid this, you can now apply for a license at an easy rate. Subodh Kumar Srivastava, District Excise Officer (DEO), Gautam Buddha Nagar, said that not having a liquor license for parties even at home or community level is a violation of rules, and legal action including fine can be taken.

The official said that in view of low awareness among people about excise rules, officials have started contacting welfare associations (RWAs) and citizens and informing them about the guidelines for obtaining short-term licenses. Srivastava said, “If someone is serving liquor without a license, whether it is for sale in Uttar Pradesh or outside the state, it is completely illegal. “Action will be taken on this (by the Excise Department).”

Srivastava said that licenses for serving liquor at parties are available in two categories. The first category is of domestic party in which the number of people attending is less and for this there is a fee of Rs 4000. He said the fee for the second category license is Rs 11,000 and it allows serving liquor to large crowds attending community halls, restaurants or other functions including banquets.

He said, “Both these categories of indefinite licenses are valid for one day and the application can be made online on the department’s website.” According to official data, 5,820 such licenses were issued from April 1 to November 30 in 2022, while 8,770 licenses were issued during the same period in this financial year. Thus the license has increased by 40 percent. Srivastava said, “The department issued 900 such licenses in November alone, which is the highest in any single month in recent times. “This also helped the government earn revenue on a large scale.”
