Uttar Pradesh Liquor Sales 2025: The Excise Department of UP is getting a big benefit from the applications for liquor shops. So far, the department has received around Rs 2 thousand crore as processing fees. The money deposited as processing fee will not be returned to the applicant under any circumstances. At the same time, due to the extension of the application date, applications can be made till 28 February.
Liquor Shop License: Big news is coming regarding the applications being made for the allotment of liquor shops in Uttar Pradesh. The Excise Department has decided to extend the application deadline. With the extension of the application date, now interested applicants will be able to apply for one more day i.e. till 28 February. The UP Excise Department has taken this decision at the last moment. This has given great relief to the interested applicants who could not apply till now due to some reason. Let us tell you, till now the Excise Department has received more than Rs 1,987 crore as processing fee. With the extension of the deadline by one day, the figure of processing fee can cross 2 thousand crores.
Actually, online applications are being made for the license of country liquor, model shop and retail shops of cannabis. The last date to apply for this was 27 February. Applicants had the opportunity to apply till 5 pm on 27 February. But the Excise Department has extended the date to apply for the allotment of liquor shops. With this decision of the department, interested applicants will now be able to apply till 5 pm on 28 February.
In this regard, Excise Commissioner Adarsh Singh informed that under the Excise Policy Year 2025-26, a total of 3 lakh 65 thousand 268 applications have been made till 5 pm on 27 February for registration through e-lottery of all 27,308 country liquor, composite shops, model shops and retail shops of cannabis. All these applications have been made online. Due to which processing fees of Rs 1987.19 crore have been received. The Excise Commissioner further informed that the e-lottery will be opened on March 6. The licensees will be selected transparently through the online portal.
