 New Delhi: Liquor vends will remain closed for six days in the next three months in the capital Delhi, information about which has been given by the Delhi Government. This execution will take place over six days in October, November and December, which may cause trouble to those who consume alcohol. The maximum dry days will be in the month of October, when liquor shops will remain closed for four days.

Shops will remain closed for three days this month

According to a Delhi government notification, the Excise Department has informed that 637 liquor shops operated by four government agencies will be closed on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), October 24 (Dussehra), October 27 (Guru Nanak Jayanti) October 28 (Valmiki Jayanti), Liquor shops will remain closed on 12 November (Diwali) and 25 December (Christmas).

According to this decision, club-bars serving liquor will also remain closed on the said days. The Excise Commissioner of Delhi has the authority to notify Dry Day on occasions like religious festivals and birth anniversaries of great personalities of the country. Apart from liquor shops, bars and clubs serving liquor will also remain closed on these days.

According to officials, excise licensees are not compensated for dry days. This rule is according to the list released every three months, which includes the dates of dry days.
