Liquor shops: During the New Year week, liquor shops will close one hour late at night. Under the new order, liquor shops will remain open from 10 am to 11 pm from 24 to 31 December. The Excise Commissioner has issued instructions to all DMs in this regard.
Demand to change school timings to 10 am in view of cold
In view of the increasing cold in the state, the Teachers’ Union has demanded to change the timings of the council schools of the state. State President of Uttar Pradesh BTC Teachers’ Union Anil Yadav has said that in many schools, children study sitting on the ground. Parents of many children have not yet bought warm clothes. Due to this, children are facing a lot of difficulties. In view of this, the timings of all government and private schools up to class 8 in the state should be changed from 10 am to 2 pm.
Maharajganj, Bahraich ahead in development and revenue matters
The State Employees Joint Council has sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make service rules for outsourced employees across the country and determine minimum wages. In the memorandum, Joint Council President JN Tiwari has proposed to determine the minimum honorarium by dividing the outsourced workers into four categories – semi-skilled, skilled, diploma technical and degree holders.
He has proposed a minimum honorarium of Rs 84500 for outsourced employees to be kept in the grade pay of Rs 20235 and Rs 5400. Council General Secretary Aruna Shukla said that the proposal has proposed to make the rules for outsourced employees effective from April 1, 2024 and to benefit the workers of important departments like semi-skilled, skilled, agriculture, mining, health, education, social welfare.
Along with this, a proposal has been made to constitute a selection commission to determine the selection process of outsourced personnel. He said that the Central Executive of the State Employees Joint Council will meet in the first week of January, which will decide the further strategy. He said that the problems of outsourced employees were raised prominently in the talks with the Chief Secretary of the state Manoj Kumar Singh on December 10. He has assured positive action on this.
