The Delhi government has declared five dry days in the first quarter of 2025-26, wherein liquor shops will remain closed on important religious occasions between April and June.
It has been announced on which days liquor will not be sold in Delhi. The Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has declared five dry days. For the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26, i.e. between April to June, liquor will not be sold on these days. The Delhi government has decided to keep liquor shops closed on five important religious occasions.
The ban on the sale of liquor (dry day) applies on various occasions every year in Delhi. The number and dates of these days vary according to the policy of the state government, national festivals, religious occasions and elections. Usually there are about 3 to 5 dry days in Delhi, which include major national festivals. For example, liquor shops remain closed on 26 January i.e. Republic Day, 15 August i.e. Independence Day and 2 October i.e. Gandhi Jayanti.

Now the Rekha Gupta government has also declared a dry day on Ram Navami. Liquor will not be sold on 6 April. Liquor shops will also remain closed on Mahavir Jayanti on 10 April, on Good Friday on 18 April. Not only this, dry days have also been declared on Budh Purnima on 12 May and on Bakrid on 7 June.
