Lockdown: Lockdown till October 16, marriages banned, schools and colleges closed

Lockdown: Schools and colleges will remain closed from 12 to 16 October due to lockdown.

Lockdown: The government of Pakistan has not trusted its local police and Rangers regarding the security of the SCO summit to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan. In view of security, Pakistan Army has been deployed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. On the instructions of the army, wedding halls, cafes, restaurants and snooker clubs in these areas have been ordered to remain closed from 12 to 16 October.

The SCO summit will be held in Islamabad on 16 and 17 October under the chairmanship of Pakistan, in which various heads of state including Indian Foreign Minister and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang will participate. Due to the terrorist incidents in Pakistan in the last one month and the demonstrations by the party of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the central government has not trusted the local police and other forces. Therefore, 10,000 soldiers and commandos of the Pakistan Army have been deployed in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

All businesses will remain closed from October 12 to 16

Local police and other forces have now been asked to receive direct instructions from military authorities. On the orders of the army, the local police have issued instructions to keep marriage halls, cafes, restaurants and snooker clubs in Islamabad and Rawalpindi closed from October 12 to 16. The police have issued notices to traders, hotel and restaurant owners in these areas and warned that if anyone violates the order, legal action will be taken against him.

Public holiday declared on October 14 and 16

The police have requested traders and hotel owners to fill bail bonds. In these bonds, the hotel owners will guarantee that no outsider is staying in their hotel. Apart from this, public holiday has been declared from 14 to 16 October in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. On the other hand, former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party has decided to hold protests at various places in the next four days, resulting in increased chances of direct conflict between the party and the army.

The SCO Summit includes India, China, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. It is an important economic and security block of Asia, which has become one of the largest inter-regional international organizations. Foreign ministers or heads of state of all these countries are likely to attend the conference, due to which Pakistan is very worried. This is the reason why it has handed over the security of these two cities to the army.
