In fact, an association of cylinder transporters of the government oil and gas company Indian Oil Corporation has gone on strike from Tuesday. Transporters Association has announced an indefinite strike. The name of the association is North East Packed LPG Transporter Association.

There may be problems from the end of the week

The association says that the rates in the tenders that have come recently are very low. Apart from this, the association has also cited old dues as the reason for the strike. Due to this strike, the supply of LPG cylinders in the North-Eastern states, especially Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Mizoram, may be affected. According to a PTI report, if the strike is not called off soon, there will be a shortage of cylinders by the end of this week.

Transporters’ strike due to these reasons

The association says that this is a flash strike. According to him, some dues have not been paid since 2018. The company has been asked to pay it as soon as possible. According to the association, this is not a strike, but we have stopped our vehicles from Monday. At the same time, IOC has requested the transporters to call off the strike as it may cause problems to the common people.

Indian Oil AOD, the northeast division of Indian Oil Corporation, produces 1.4 lakh LPG cylinders every day. It has 9 cylinder bottling plants in the north-eastern states. Due to the flash strike, 6 out of 9 bottling plants have been affected, which are located in Assam. The combined capacity of the affected bottling plants is 1.1 lakh cylinders per day.
