New Delhi. Big information is coming out regarding the subsidy of LPG cylinder. An internal assessment by the government indicates that customers may have to pay Rs 1,000 per cylinder for LPG cylinders. However, it is not entirely clear what the government’s view is on this.

Nothing has been said clearly from the government about giving subsidy. According to reports, till now the rule of Rs 10 lakh income will be kept in force and the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will get the benefit of subsidy. For the rest, the subsidy may end. Let us tell you that this scheme was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016 to provide LPG connection to the below poverty line families. There are more than 29 crore LPG connections in India, out of which there are about 8.8 LPG connections under the Ujjwala scheme. In FY22, the government is planning to add another one crore connections under the scheme.
What is the status of subsidy?
In the year 2020, when the worldwide lockdown was imposed due to the coronovirus epidemic, the prices of crude oil fell. This helped the Government of India on the LPG subsidy front as the prices were low and there was no need to change the subsidy.
