LPG Cylinders sell on FPS: Soon there will be retail sale of small cylinders at fair price shops. Along with this, consumers will also get MUDRA loan on FPS. The government has given a proposal for this.
LPG Cylinders sell on FPS: The government on Wednesday proposed to sell small LPG cylinders through Fair Price Shops (FPS) across the country. The government has also proposed to provide financial services through FPS and MUDRA loans to its dealers for capital enhancement.
There are total 5.32 lakh FPS in the country. With this move, the Center is aiming to take its services closer to the poor and needy consumers.
What is FPS
Fair Price Shops or FPS are those shops where ration card holders are given ration at a fair price. They are licensed by the government to provide essential commodities to the general public at reasonable prices.
Food and Public Distribution Secretary, Sudhanshu Pandey in a video conferencing with representatives of several ministries and PSUs has emphasized on further activating the FPS with a focus on enhancing the financial behavior.
Oil marketing companies praised
The representatives of oil marketing companies appreciated the proposal for retail sale of small LPG cylinders through FPS and said that necessary assistance would be provided to the interested states and union territories (UTs).
MUDRA loan will be available on FPS
On the other hand, the Financial Services Department appreciated the government’s proposal to provide MUDRA loans to FPS dealers for providing financial services through FPS and said that necessary assistance would be provided to the interested states and union territories (UTs).
Earlier, the CEO of Common Service Center (CSC) gave a presentation about the various services provided in this scheme of the government. To take this initiative forward, a presentation was also given about the preparations of CSC for partnership with the governments of different states and union territories.
