Free cylinder will be available in Holi also: Yogi
In fact, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that his government will once again provide free gas cylinders in the state in March on the occasion of Holi. According to a government statement, on Friday, on the occasion of Dhanteras, the Chief Minister launched the free LPG cylinder refill distribution campaign for 1.75 crore eligible families of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana from Lok Bhavan here.
It is mandatory to link Aadhaar with bank account.
The Uttar Pradesh government will spend Rs 2,312 crore on this campaign. During this, Chief Minister Adityanath said that his government will once again provide free gas cylinders in March on the occasion of Holi, but for this the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will have to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar.
‘Government is completing another announcement’
The Chief Minister said that his government is fulfilling another announcement made in the ‘Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra’ during the Assembly elections-2022. He said that before 2014, people were not able to get gas connections, if they did get connections, they had to stand in long queues for cylinders and sometimes the situation became such that the police had to resort to lathicharge.
‘Around 50 crore people benefited across the country’
He said that poor and deprived people could not even think of gas connection and women had to face many diseases due to smoke. The Chief Minister said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Ujjwala Yojana in 2016, the gas shortage in the country ended, within no time 9 crore 60 lakh families in the country got free gas connections for the first time and about 50 crore people got free gas connections. People benefited.
‘People are getting benefits without any rigging’
He said that recently Prime Minister Modi has given a separate gift of Rs 300 subsidy to the LPG beneficiaries and today the beneficiaries are getting the benefit of the subsidy without any rigging and theft and due to being linked to Aadhaar, it is being transferred directly into their account. Subsidy money is arriving. He said that by providing healthy fuel in the form of LPG to the poor and underprivileged under the Ujjwala scheme, Prime Minister Modi has saved their eyes as well as their lungs.
In the program, Chief Minister Adityanath symbolically gave the amount of subsidy being given by the Central Government to 10 women beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
