How is the price decided?
The price of LPG cylinder in India is decided every month and it is directly related to the international market because India imports gas. If the price increases abroad or the rupee weakens against the dollar, then the cylinder becomes expensive. Apart from this, the final price is determined by adding transport, refining, tax and profit margin of companies. The central government gives subsidy to some customers under schemes like Ujjwala, due to which they get cheaper cylinders. The price of domestic and commercial cylinders is also different. On the 1st of every month, government oil companies review and release the new price.
