Cylinder at 2014 price in Delhi-Chennai
After a big cut of Rs 200 in the prices of domestic LPG cylinder, now in the month of September, the price of 14.2 kg cylinder has reached the rate of 9 years ago i.e. in the year 2014. According to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), on September 1, 2014, the price of a domestic gas cylinder in the capital Delhi was Rs 901, while now it has come down to Rs 903 in September 2023, while in Chennai it was sold for Rs 902.50 in the year 2014. Was and now again it is being sold for Rs.918.50. According to the website of IOCL, if we compare the price of cylinder by removing the subsidy received at that time, then now the price of domestic cylinder has reached the price of 2014 itself.
So much cheaper than before in Mumbai and Kolkata
On the other hand, if we talk about other metros of the country, then in Kolkata and Mumbai, after the relief given by the government, now the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder (LPG Cylinder Price) has come down from the year 2014. On September 1, 2014, a domestic gas cylinder was being sold in Kolkata at a price of Rs 945, which has now come down to Rs 929, while in Mumbai it was Rs 926.50 nine years ago and now it is sold here for Rs 902.50. Used to be.
The fate of the beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme
The beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme of the Center have benefited a lot from this decision of the government to cut the price of domestic gas cylinders. He was already getting a subsidy of Rs 200 on a cylinder, whereas now it has been increased to Rs 400. That is, if the beneficiaries of this government scheme live in Delhi, then they will not get 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for Rs 903, but only Rs 703. Apart from this, under PM Ujjawala Yojna, the government has also announced to give 75 lakh new free gas connections. After this decision, the number of Ujjwala beneficiaries in the country will also increase from 9.60 crore to 10.35 crore now.
However, in 2014, the prices of subsidized gas cylinders in the country were also much lower than the latest cut. Talking about that time, after the subsidy received on the gas cylinder, on March 1, 2014, the domestic gas cylinder was available for only Rs 410.50 in the capital Delhi.
