LPG Price Hike: Big News! Cylinder prices are going to increase this Diwali, check new updates

Loss of more than Rs 100

According to some media reports, the loss caused by selling LPG cylinders at a price below the cost has now exceeded Rs 100 per cylinder. In such a situation, the prices of LPG cylinders may increase just before the festival of Diwali.

Fuel companies like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum can increase the price of LPG cylinders after getting the approval of the government. Sources associated with petroleum companies show that the difference between the cost of LPG cylinders and the retail selling price has increased and the government has not yet approved any subsidy to compensate for this loss.

15 rupees increased on 6 October

The last change in the prices of LPG cylinders was done on 6 October 2021. At that time the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 15. Let us tell you that from the month of July till now, an increase of Rs 90 has been registered in its prices. For your information, let us tell you that on subsidy, the government provides 12 gas cylinders to a family in a year. At present, the price of LPG cylinder available on subsidy in Delhi and Mumbai is Rs 899.50. At the same time, its price in Kolkata is Rs 926.

Increased prices in the international market

An increase in the prices of LPG cylinders has also been registered in the international market. In the month of October, its price has increased by more than 60% to $ 800 (about Rs 59,895) per tonne. Talking about the same Brent crude oil, it is trading at around $ 85.42 (Rs 6,395) per barrel.
