LPG cylinder Price: In Rajasthan, domestic gas cylinders are going to be given to families associated with the National Food Security Act from today, September 1, at Rs 450. This decision of the government will benefit about 68 lakh families of the state. The subsidy received on gas cylinders will also come directly into the account. The government has expanded the scheme and now 68 lakh new families of NFSA have been included. This will make gas cylinders available to these families at cheaper prices, which will reduce their kitchen expenses.
This step of the government is also important for the women who manage the kitchen of the house. The state government has issued guidelines for the implementation of the scheme. The full price will have to be paid while taking the cylinder, which is currently Rs 806.50. The government will deposit the remaining amount directly into the consumer’s bank account as subsidy. Thus, the cylinder will cost the consumer only Rs 450.
Under this scheme, every family will get up to 12 cylinders in a year, that is, one LPG cylinder will be available every month for Rs 450. The objective of the scheme is to ensure that every needy family in the state can get the facility of LPG at a cheap rate. This decision of the Rajasthan government is important for the economically weaker sections. In this era of inflation, this subsidy in LPG prices is a big relief for the poor and low income group people. This will further strengthen the social security schemes of the state.
It is noteworthy that during the budget supply, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma had announced to give cylinders for Rs 450 to families getting ration wheat. CM said that we are expanding the scope of those getting gas cylinders for Rs 450. Earlier only Ujjwala Yojana and BPL families used to get cylinders for Rs 450. Now NFSA linked families will also be given cheap gas domestic gas cylinders. This decision of the government will put an additional burden of Rs 200 crore on the state’s financial fund.
Let us tell you that at present, more than 1 crore 7 lakh families in Rajasthan come under NFSA, out of which 37 lakh families are already BPL or Ujjwala connection holders. Now, 68 lakh families will be able to take advantage of this scheme. Earlier, the state government had decided to give subsidy in the prices of gas cylinders under BPL and Ujjwala Yojana. Now, families linked to NFSA will also get this benefit. With this, lakhs of families of Rajasthan will be able to get cheap LPG cylinders.
