1.51 lakh people had taken advantage of the scheme in the district. These connections were issued by 38 gas agencies of three companies. In this, the number of Ujjwala connection holders of IOCL company is 10679, BPCL is 7911, HPCL is 5354.
A few days ago, in the Union Cabinet meeting, the amount of subsidy for LPG connection holders under the Ujjwala scheme was increased from Rs 200 to Rs 300. That means it has increased by Rs 100. After this, the Ujjwala beneficiary will have to pay Rs 603 for an LPG cylinder of 14.2 kg. Till now he had to pay Rs 703.
It is necessary to link Aadhar card with the bank.
This benefit will be available only to those whose Aadhar card is linked to their bank account and the process of seeding is completed. So far, 1.27 lakh beneficiaries in the district have reached the bank and got Aadhaar linked to their accounts and seeding has been done. 23,944 beneficiaries have not adopted any process. Therefore they will not be able to get this benefit of subsidy.
District Supply Officer Puran Singh Chauhan said that the District Magistrate had taken a meeting with the officials of the companies in this matter. In this, they were asked to link the Aadhar card with the bank account of the beneficiary. But, due to their slow progress the beneficiaries are deprived of the benefits of subsidy.
You can get the gift of free cylinder on Diwali
BJP had promised the people during the assembly elections that cylinders would be given free on Holi and Diwali every year. The government had promised to give this cylinder to Ujjwala beneficiaries. However, the beneficiaries did not receive the cylinders on Holi, but next month is the festival of Diwali. This time the beneficiaries are expected to get free cylinders.
Here, the District Supply Department has also collected the details of all the connection holders. In this regard, DSO said that no such government order has come yet. If he comes, work will be done accordingly.
