However, the railways is considering making a rule that passengers will be able to travel for free only up to 200 to 250 km from Prayagraj. If a passenger has to travel more than 250 km from Prayagraj, then the railways will consider that the passenger could not get a ticket in the crowd. Such a passenger will be able to get a ticket from the TTE in the train and no fine will be imposed on him. However, no official announcement has been made on this proposal yet.
Trial of buying scanner tickets failed
Railways tried to buy scanner tickets at the station as an alternative. But, due to booking of large number of tickets at the same time, a situation like network jam was created. A senior railway official said that due to heavy crowd, it is not possible for the passengers to stand in line and get tickets. Railways has a rule of imposing fine on passengers without tickets, which is not possible. In such a situation, the railway is considering making the tickets of unreserved category free.
