It is aided by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). It is located near the Base Hospital of Delhi Cantt in New Delhi. Every year 100 students get admission in this college. Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMS), one of the oldest medical colleges in the country, was established in 1900. Affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University of Tamil Nadu, this medical college has more than 8 thousand employees. It has two campuses. The main campus is in the middle of Vellore City while the second is about seven kilometers away from the main campus in Bagayam. This college, which has secured third place in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework Medical Ranking in 2023, teaches 57 post graduate diploma and degree medical courses including MS, MD, DM, MCh, Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, apart from MBBS. The college also offers 52 fellowship courses.
Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS)
Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences is the first rural medical college in India. Located in Sevagram, Maharashtra, this institute is managed by Kasturba Health Society. The institute enrolls 100 MBBS students every year. Half of them come from Maharashtra state and the other half from the rest of India. The college offers MBBS as well as MD and MS degrees and diploma courses in medicine and surgery. The medical college started in 1969. The college was affiliated to Nagpur University till 1997 but since 1998 it is now affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik.
Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Tiruchirappalli
Established in 2008 by SRM Group of Educational Institutions, Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre is one of the reputed institutions in the country. It is affiliated to Dr. MGR Medical University of Tamil Nadu. Apart from MBBS, diploma can also be done in courses like para-medical, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy and naturopathy.
SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad
Located in Manjushrinagar, Karnataka, SDM College of Medical Sciences is built near Navalur railway station between Hubli and Dharwad. Established in 2003, it is one of the largest private medical colleges in the country and the largest in Karnataka. Affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, this college offers MBBS as well as diploma in courses like para-medical, nursing, physiotherapy and naturopathy.
