The deep low pressure area over Jharkhand is currently moving ahead as a depression over North Chhattisgarh. It is moving in west-northwest direction. It is likely to reach North-East Madhya Pradesh. Due to the effect of this powerful weather system, heavy rains are occurring in the districts of Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa, Sagar divisions of East Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, moderate rains are also occurring in Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Gwalior, Indore divisions. Today there may be heavy rainfall in the districts of Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Bhopal division along with Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha districts.
Administration alert, school closed
Due to heavy rains, a holiday has been declared in Jabalpur, Dindori and Katni today, while all SDMs and Tehsildars in urban and rural areas of Narsinghpur district have been instructed to remain alert. Gadarwara Tendukheda road closed due to heavy rain and Narmada flood in Narsinghpur, holiday has been declared in schools and Anganwadis.
