Official sources said that the gates have been closed for security purposes on the instructions of police authorities.

A senior official said some gates at several stations – Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Udyog Bhawan, Janpath and Barakhamba Road – have been closed. He said that a gate at Khan Market metro station has also been closed on Tuesday. Heavy deployment of police and Rapid Action Force has been carried out besides setting up barriers in several phases to close the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders to prevent farmers from entering Delhi.
