Delhi Metro Travel Rules Update: Till now there was a ban on carrying liquor bottles in Delhi Metro, which has now been relaxed.
Delhi News- A good news has come out for the liquor lovers in Delhi. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has now given permission to carry liquor bottles inside the metro train. DMRC has said that passengers will now be able to travel with two bottles filled with liquor. However, both these bottles should be completely sealed. DMRC has taken this decision after a meeting with CISF officials. Let us tell you that the security of metro stations is being handled by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), hence this decision has been taken only after getting its green signal.
Till now there was discount only on Airport Express Line.
Till now there was a ban on any passenger carrying a liquor bottle in Delhi Metro. However, this ban was not applicable on the Airport Express Line, where air travelers used to travel after bringing liquor from the airport’s duty free shop. DMRC said in its statement on Friday that now Delhi Metro has implemented the rules of Airport Express Line here also. This decision has been taken after a joint meeting of CISF and DMRC officials.

Permission to carry a sealed bottle, action will be taken against drinking it
DMRC has also clarified that only sealed bottles of alcohol are allowed inside the metro premises. Any passenger can keep two sealed alcohol bottles with him, but will not be allowed to consume them inside the metro premises. DMRC has warned that all passengers should maintain adequate dignity during the journey. If any passenger is seen doing any objectionable act while under the influence of alcohol, then action will be taken against him as per law.
