Preparations to run metro from Noida Sector-62 to Sahibabad have intensified. DMRC submitted the revised detailed project report (DPR) to GDA on Monday. The new DPR will have five stations from Sahibabad to Noida. Initially four stations were proposed.
With the preparation of this route, Ghaziabad will be directly connected to Noida. Additionally, the metro will also connect to the Namo Bharat train station at Sahibabad station. GDA is busy connecting the Red and Blue lines of the metro. For this, GDA had asked Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to prepare a revised DPR. On Monday, DMRC officials reached the authority and handed over the revised DPR of this project to the Chief Engineer in-charge of GDA.
In the revised DPR, the length of Noida to Sahibabad route is 5.017 kilometers. Earlier four stations were proposed on this route, but now five stations will be built in the revised DPR. Vaibhav Khand Indirapuram, DPS Indirapuram, Shakti Khand Indirapuram, Vasundhara Sector 7 and Sahibabad metro stations will be built on this route. In the revised DPR, the cost of this metro route project has been stated to be Rs 1873.31 crore, whereas in the previously prepared DPR its cost was Rs 1517 crore. In this way the cost of the project has increased by Rs 356.31 crore.
At the same time, small changes have also been made in the alignment of the metro route. A total land area of 26691.30 square meters is required in the revised DPR. In this, 7690.10 square meter area is private land and 19001.20 square meter government land. Engineers of the authority will brainstorm on the revised DPR. Discussion will also be held with GDA Vice President on Tuesday. Besides, technical investigation will be done after discussing all its points. After this consent will be given.
Namo will connect to Sahibabad station of India
Sahibabad station of Metro will be connected to Sahibabad station of Namo Bharat train. It will be connected through a footover bridge, so that passengers coming from Noida via Metro can come to Mohannagar or Ghaziabad by Sahibabad Namo Bharat train. This will make coming and going to Noida much easier.
DMRC has also given the funding pattern in the revised DPR. In this, 20 percent contribution will be made by the Central Government, while 80 percent contribution will have to be given by the State Government. This will include state government and local government departments. The authority will also have to talk to the government.
