Metro Tickets Rule: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has given a big relief to the people traveling in the metro. Now passengers will not have to stand in long queues for tokens or smart cards.
Passengers will be able to get tickets by scanning the QR code on their smartphones in a few seconds. It will work just like a smart card. This will make the metro journey easier for people. Passengers can get this facility in the coming few months. DMRC officials gave this information on Saturday.
Where will this facility be available?
In this regard, DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar told news agency PTI, “We are planning to introduce QR for tickets. It will be like a card which will not be restricted to a single journey.
This will also reduce the number of paper prints. This facility will be available on all platforms that currently provide DMRC QR tickets.”
There will be no need to buy tickets every time
According to DMRC, the new system will enable passengers to top up their QR wallet on the mobile app as per the need, eliminating the need to buy a new QR ticket for each journey. The official said that this facility will eliminate the need to carry physical passes or tickets.
Passengers can select the Delhi Metro QR ticket option on Amazon Pay and choose their stations, make the payment and receive a mobile QR ticket instantly. Earlier this month, the DMRC introduced mobile-based QR tickets on Amazon Pay.
