Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) on Friday launched WhatsApp-based ticketing service for passengers of Mumbai Metro’s Line 2A and 7. Know how to book tickets.

Mumbai Metro Whatsapp Ticket: Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) on Friday launched eco-friendly WhatsApp-based ticketing service for passengers of Line 2A and 7. Metro Line 2A is from Andheri West to Dahisar, while Line-7 is from Andheri East to Dahisar. Both lines were launched in April 2022 and serve passengers in the northwestern part of the metropolis. The WhatsApp-based ticketing system will increase the use of digital tickets, provide convenience to passengers and provide an eco-friendly alternative to paper tickets.

Mumbai Metro Whatsapp Ticket: WhatsApp ticket service started on 2A and 7

In a press release, MMMOCL said that under this service launched for passengers on Metro Line 2A and 7, passengers can now buy tickets directly through WhatsApp, eliminating the need for paper tickets. The press release said that the WhatsApp-based ticket service was launched by a female passenger amid the Navratri festival. Passengers can buy tickets through conversation by sending ‘Hi’ to WhatsApp number 86526 35500 or by scanning the QR code installed at the stations.

Mumbai Metro Whatsapp Ticket: Maha will cover all stations and all lines of Mumbai Metro

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) Metropolitan Commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee said that this facility will help reduce queues at the counter and provide a more seamless travel experience. This service will cover all stations and all lines of Maha Mumbai Metro. According to the press release, a small fee will be charged for paying with credit card or debit card, but there will be no additional charge for paying with UPI.

Mumbai Metro Whatsapp Ticket: 62 percent of daily commuters use paper QR tickets

MMOCL MD Rubal Agarwal said, ‘WhatsApp ticketing facility will help reduce queues at ticket counters, making the travel experience even easier. Currently, about 62 percent of our daily passengers use paper QR tickets, three percent use mobile QR tickets, and 35 percent use NCMC cards.’ The WhatsApp-based ticketing system will increase the use of digital tickets. Along with this, passengers will also get convenience.
