According to the report of Economic Times, telecom companies are planning to increase the tariff. This is the fourth time in the last few years that telecom companies are going to increase the tariff plans. After this decision, an increase of about 25 percent can be seen in the customers’ bills. With this decision, the average revenue per user (ARPU) of telecom companies will increase.
Mobile bill can be expensive?
According to ET news, the country’s big telecom operator companies will try to recover amid increasing competition and huge 5G investment by increasing their tariff plans by up to 25 percent in the coming days. It has also been claimed in the report that even though there seems to be a huge increase in the tariff plan, it will be normal for the customers living in cities and villages. The expenditure of customers living in urban areas will increase from 3.2 percent to 3.5 percent. At the same time, the expenditure on telecom of customers living in villages will increase from 5.2 percent to 5.9 percent.
Bharti Airtel and Jio will benefit the most
The two biggest telecom companies of the country, Bharti Airtel and Jio, are going to benefit the most. According to the report of Axis Capital, the average revenue per user (ARPU) of telecom operators is expected to increase by 16 percent. In such a situation, an increase of Rs 29 in ARPU of Bharti Airtel and Rs 26 in Bharti Airtel can be recorded.
Increase of up to Rs 100 per user is expected
Piyush Vaish, TMT Industry Leader, Deloitte, South Asia, has said that telecom companies can increase ARPU by 10 to 15 percent to compensate for the expenditure on 5G. In such a situation, the customer’s plan may increase by Rs 100 per user by the end of the year. Along with this, Piyush Vaish has also expressed the hope that even after the increase in mobile bills, there will be no significant difference in the number of users. At present, the focus of users in India is on fast internet speed rather than cheap mobile bills.
