If you also want to get free domestic gas connections (LPG connections) then there is good news for you. The central government offers free domestic gas connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
The next phase of PMUY is set to begin in June this month. It is learned that this phase of the current scheme will be the same as the previous phase. No changes have been made to the rules. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has finalized the blueprint for the next phase of the Prime Minister’s Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and this phase is likely to begin soon.
On February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the expansion of the free domestic LPG gas scheme (Ujjwala). The finance minister has said that another one crore beneficiaries will be brought under the scheme. If you want to apply for this scheme, know everything.
Who will get the benefit? – Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Under this scheme, the government offers domestic gas connection to the families falling below the poverty line. This connection is named after the women in the family. The scheme has helped in empowering women in rural areas.
BPL cardholders will get 1 crore free gas connections
Here’s how to apply online- If you want to apply for this scheme, first go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala scheme at pmujjwalayojana.com. Download the form from the homepage here. After clicking on the download form, the plan form will open. While filling this form you have to fill in the name, email id, phone number, captcha code. Then click on the provided button to generate OTP
The rest of the online application process – -Then you download the form. You can fill this form by visiting the nearest LPG agency. You will also need to provide some documents. Such as Aadhar card, certificate of local address, your photo etc.
Once the documents are verified, you will be given LPG gas connection.
Who is eligible? – The beneficiary of this scheme must be a citizen of India and you must be over 18 years of age. Women from families below the poverty line who do not have LPG connection in their name. And such a scheme has not been taken advantage of before.
