Monthly Pension Scheme: This state government will give Rs 3,500 monthly pension to the elderly, you have to apply here

The Odisha government announced to increase the social security pension for the elderly and Divyangjan of the state. Elderly people of 80 years and above and persons with more than 80% disability will now get a monthly pension of Rs 3,500. Launch of ‘Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme’

The government has set a target of covering 3 lakh houses in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme. The work of installing solar panels on the roof will be completed by March 2027. Along with the Central Government subsidy of ₹30,000 on 1 kW solar panel installation, the State Government will provide an additional subsidy of ₹25,000.

Big decisions for women and agriculture sector

The state government has decided to include all eligible women under its flagship Subhadra scheme. All eligible women who apply by March 31, 2025 will be given the first two installments of ₹10,000 for 2024. A provision of ₹847.14 crore has been made for five years under the Mukhyamantri Krishi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) to boost the agriculture sector. The scheme was launched in 2018 to encourage agri-entrepreneurs and create employment opportunities.

These big decisions taken by the Odisha government

The Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) will be given a government guarantee of ₹17,500 crore for five years and the guarantee commission of ₹437.5 crore has been waived. It was decided to transfer the administrative control of minerals from the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to the Steel and Minerals Department. Odisha Statistics and Economics Service and Odisha Subordinate Statistics and Economics Service cadres will be reconstituted. It was decided to repeal the Manual Scavengers and Dry Latrines (Prohibition) Act 1993.
