MSSC Scheme for Women: Great opportunity to save and get better returns
The Government of India launched the MSSC (Mahila Samman Savings Certificate) scheme for women and girls. The scheme was launched on 31 March 2023 under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence and was implemented for a period of two years. The aim of this scheme is to empower women financially and give them financial independence.
What is special about MSSC scheme?
7.5% annual interest is given on MSSC scheme, which is more than 2-year FD of banks.
This scheme provides higher returns with safe investment.
Account can be easily opened in post office or registered banks.
How much money can be invested?
Minimum investment: Rs 1,000
Maximum investment: Rs 2,00,000
After a period of 2 years, the entire principal and interest is returned.
After 1 year, account holders can withdraw up to 40% of the amount.
Rules of Mahila Samman Yojana
The account can be closed prematurely in special circumstances like serious illness or death of the account holder.
If the account holder closes the account after 6 months, the interest rate may be reduced.
