During the dust storm and rain in Ghatkopar area here, a 100 feet long hoarding installed on a petrol pump and weighing 250 tonnes fell down. 14 people died due to falling hoarding. While more than 70 people have been injured. While 78 people have been evacuated safely.

Officials say that this hoarding was illegal. President Draupadi Murmu has expressed grief over the deaths of people due to falling hoardings. Mumbai Police has registered a case against the owner of Ego Media and others in this matter.

According to the report of Indian Express, it is being told that due to rain many people had stopped at the CNG pump in Ghatkopar. While some people had come to get fuel in their vehicles and then this hoarding fell. Balaji Shinde had also come under the influence of hoarding. He was rescued after two hours. Balaji Shinde had gone to the petrol pump to fill fuel in his vehicle. He told that we had to go to Navi Mumbai to attend a family function, when they reached the CNG pump to fill the fuel, the hoarding fell.

Similarly, Swapnil Khupte had reached the CNG pump to escape the rain. He told that then the hoarding fell and he got trapped under it. However, he somehow managed to extricate himself. He told that people were shouting for help, but we could not do anything even if we tried. Swapnil suffered injuries to his eyes and other parts of his body.

Similarly, Shubham and Varun had also reached the petrol pump to fill petrol in the scooter. Varun told that then I got a call and I came out of the petrol pump. While I was talking, suddenly I saw that the hoarding fell and Shubham got trapped in it. Shubham has also suffered injuries. Shubham is undergoing treatment in Rajawadi Hospital.

Tilak Nagar taxi driver Gopal Dutt said that he had stopped to fill fuel in his car and got hit by the hoarding. Gopal remained trapped in the hoarding for three hours, after which NDRF took him out. An eyewitness said that the hoarding suddenly fell like the uprooting of a tree. As soon as I saw the hoarding falling, I started running to save myself. But my brother got trapped under it. But he survived and suffered minor injuries.
