Mumbai Pune Expressway: If you are planning to travel from Mumbai to Pune, then be alert immediately. Yashwantrao Chavan The Panvel route on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will be closed for 6 months from February 11. The state government has informed about this through a notice. Many small and big vehicle drivers may face difficulties due to this decision of the government. The government has said that some improvements will be made at Kalamboli junction by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Under this, a new flyover will be built. Apart from this, underpass construction work will also be done. In such a situation, this route is being closed for a few months.

The traffic police has issued new guidelines on the closure of Panvel route. An order has been issued by Navi Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade under the Motor Vehicles Act. In which passengers have been asked to consider alternative routes. So that people do not have to face traffic jams. DCP Kakade said that once the project is completed, people will get relief from the jam at Kalamboli Circle.

These are the alternative routes to go to Pune

Vehicles going towards Panvel, Goa and JNPT from Mumbai-Pune Expressway will have to go to NH-48 via Palaspe Circle in Konphata. From here they can go further towards their destination. On the other hand, drivers coming from Pune to Mumbai and going to Taloja, Kalyan and Shilphata can travel via Roadpali and NH-48. Traffic police officials say that drivers will have to go on the given route only. Signboards have been installed to inform the drivers about the route. Traffic police personnel have also been deployed. Passengers will always get information about the progress of the construction work.

Expansion of Mumbai-Pune Expressway

In view of the increasing number of vehicles, expansion projects are going on on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. This includes many things like construction of additional lanes and bypass roads. The new flyover and underpass project being built at Kalamboli Circle is also a part of it. Mumbai-Pune Expressway is India’s first 6-lane. Its length is 94.5 km. This expressway has been opened for the common man. This has reduced the pressure of crowd on the old highway.
