NCRTC has changed the timing of Namo Bharat train. Earlier the train was operated daily from 6 am to 11 pm. Now by changing the timing, the train is being operated for the passengers between Sahibabad and Duhai depot from 6 am to 10 am from Monday to Saturday.
Namo Bharat Train: The timing of the semi high speed regional rail service ‘Namo Bharat’ train running from Sahibabad to Duhai in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh has been reduced by one hour. Namo Bharat train earlier ran from 6 am to 11 pm from Monday to Saturday and from 8 am to 11 pm on Sunday. Its timing has been reduced by one hour from last 5th November. Now this train will run from 6 am to 10 pm from Monday to Saturday and from 8 am to 10 pm on Sunday.
Due to this the reduction took place
The reason for reduction in time is believed to be lack of passengers. This train is not getting as many passengers as expected. Commercial operations on the first phase section began on October 21, a day after the Prime Minister flagged off the country’s first semi-high-speed regional rail service.
So many people traveled in the first seven days
A total of 47,255 people traveled on Namo Bharat in the first seven days with an average daily ridership of 6,751. According to an NCRTC official, the number of passengers in the first phase of 17 km cannot be counted as its success or failure. This train was built not for intra-city travel but for direct travel from Ghaziabad to Meerut. He says that once the operation from Duhai to Meerut starts, the number of riders will probably start increasing.
