Industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has advocated the introduction of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana afresh. The industry body on Sunday said that by re-introducing PMAY, there is a need to mandatorily add the provision of debt-linked life insurance for all lenders. This will ensure that the goal of providing houses to all is not deviated even in the event of death or disability of the principal borrower.

The organization’s Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said that the life and livelihood of citizens has been affected due to the pandemic.
